Up Close With The “Browns

Spreading the gospel with a song since 1975, The Browns from Wallace, NC still enjoy sharing the good news of Jesus through their music ministry whenever and where ever an opportunity arises.

This multi-talented family includes Mom and Dad, Frances and Clifton Brown, their two sons, Chris and Jamie, two daughters-in-law, Teresa and Gail and four grandchildren and Clifton’s brother Bobby. You will see and hear three generations perform when they visit your area in concert.

Frances and Clifton, both vocalist, are also accompanied by Jamie with vocal harmony on some songs, while Clifton plays rythm guitar. Both Jamie and Chris add their God given talents on the pedal steel guitar, the dobro, banjo, mandolin and bass guitar to produce a rich, smooth country blend of gospel music that is easy to listen to.

Teresa, Chris’s wife and Gail, Jamie’s wife, exhibit an active interest in the ministry with the responsibilities of the record table while meeting and greeting folks at churches and concerts. They also have a full time job looking after the future “Browns." Joseph, Chris and Teresa's, son plays the acoustic guitar and the bass guitar on stage with The Browns. He also enjoys singing. His younger sister Erin loves music and enjoys singing and playing the fiddle on feature songs. Julie and Sarah, are Jamie and Gail’s twin daughters and they love to sing. Sarah plays the acoustic guitar and bass guitar while Julie does well on the mandolin. For years the children were known as “The Little Browns," but they have recently changed their name to “The Browns II.” Bobby, Clifton’s brother handles all the sound equipment and does an excellent job making sure The Browns music is smooth and easy to listen to.

The Browns have recorded a variety of albums featuring familiar favorites from the hymnal as well as some original songs.

We love to sing. We love the One we sing about and the ones we sing to. As we continue on our journey, God is first with all of us and we intend to keep it that way," say the Browns.
